Concerts in the Summer Hall · 2016 season

»Whoever goes atraveling
can tell many a story.«
(Matthias Claudius, 1740–1815)

Johann Jacob Froberger (1616–1667), whose 400th birthday gives us reason to focus on his works in three concerts with internationally well-known artists, travelled a lot – his life was determined by his travels. He met many important musicians of his time, but he could also be found at political and historical »hotspots«. His journeys through many cities and countries made him to a true European – even in the modern sense. In his music, he managed to synthesize all the different influences into is very own style and became one of the most important composers for keyboard instruments.

In our concerts, we will travel to far-away places.
We will be enthralled by personal stories.
We will be told of fateful meetings.
We will meet with keyboard acrobatics.
We will hear the cuckoo’s call.
We will dream of far-away sounds.

We wish you a happy journey!

You can buy tickets for all our concerts in our calender of events.
