Ensemble in residence of the Bach Museum

Camerata Bachiensis

was founded in 2012. The repertory of the Leipzig based ensembles contains church and chamber music, mainly of 18th century composer living in Central Germany who either were in contact with J. S. Bach or followed the local traditions of church music. Camerata Bachiensis has given concerts during Bachfest in Leipzig, Telemann Festival in Magdeburg and the International Händel Festival in Göttingen as well as in France, Poland, Slovenia, the Netherlands and the Czech Republik. The Ensemble won 1st prizes at the International Telemann Competition 2013 in Magdeburg and at the Premio Selìfa. It took part successfully in other competiton such as the Internationalen Competition »Gebrüder-Graun« 2013 and the International Van Wassenaer Concours. The first recording of Camerata Bachiensis has been published in 2016.
