The writing »Soprano« stems from J. S. Bach's cantata »Ach Gott, wie manches Herzeleid« BWV 58. It probably sounded for the first time on January 5th 1727 in Leipzig. The two represented scores basso and soprano enter into dialogue with each other, with the soprano embodying the tormented material soul and the basso portraying the voice of God. This autographic manuscript is today in the possession of the Bach Archive Leipzig.
